Mar Vista Celebrates! was created for every Mar Vistan to join together for a big block-party to commemorate the 80 years that Mar Vista has officially been part of the City of Los Angeles - and the many years to come.

Who?
Anyone with a connection to Mar Vista. At the time the area was annexed it included all the land between Walgrove Ave. and Overland Ave., south of Pico Blvd. to Culver City, which includes part of what is now known as Palms. So come join the fun if you: live in the annexed area, have ever lived in the area before, own a business in the area, ever do business in the area, have ever driven through the area, know where Mar Vista is on the map, can spell Mar Vista, etc., etc., etc.

When?
Sunday August 5, 2007, from 9 AM to 3 PM.

What?
Experience music, poetry, dance, art & food of Mar Vista's varied cultures.
Visit booths of vendors and various local civic, municipal and social groups.
Explore Arts and Crafts exhibits and sales.
Participate in historical activities and ceremonial presentations.
Bring the kids along - there will be special programs for them.

Where?
The celebration will be along Grand View Blvd., between Venice Blvd. and Mitchell Ave., including Grand View Elementary School. There will be both indoor and outdoor activities. The Farmers Market, celebrating its first anniversary on that same day, will add festivities of its own. Watch this space in the future for details of parking.
